Introducing Peru

A visit to Peru is always filled with magic and unforgettable experiences. It's no wonder that for many travellers embarking on a sometimes much wider itinerary including other countries in South or Central America, wanting to go to Peru is actually what inspired them to go on their dream trip in the first place.

The star attraction for the great majority of visitors is of course the breath-taking Machu Picchu site - no visit to Peru would be complete without it! But the country offers lots, lots more! It's full of amazing cultural and natural wonders, including 11 sites that are considered UNESCO World Heritage. Something that can surprise travellers is its unique geography - the country has three very different strips, each offering beautiful landscapes: sea and desert on the coast, the Andes with its snow and ice towards the centre and the Amazon jungle that stretches across over half of the country.

Other reasons why Peru makes such a great destination are its people who are in general extremely welcoming and kind towards foreigners, local food is excellent, transport and accommodation facilities are well-developed and in comparison to other countries in South America, prices for all your basic needs are very low, even in the capital, Lima.
