Costa Rica is a must-go destination for nature and adventure lovers visiting Central America. Over half of the country is occupied by cloud-forests, jungles, wetlands, swamps, moors and grasslands, a quarter of its land area is officially protected, half of which as nature parks, and it hosts 4% of the biodiversity on the planet. The downsides to this are that compared to other countries in Central America, costs are significantly higher and its main attractions can become crowded but if this is a worry, good budgeting and planning will ensure an amazing adventure in this Latin American paradise!
